Highlights From The Online Knitting Reference Library 1849 to 2012

Knitters can enjoy the University of Southhampton’s online Knitting Reference Library, featuring patterns, journals, ‘stitchionaries’, magazines and books from 1849 to the present day. The designs are workable and relevant. Doubtless hipsters and their action men dolls will soon be sporting woollen helmets in the fashion of 19th Century fishermen and other heavenly DIY fashions. And cop a load of those distracted male knitwear models, all pointy elbows and props (guns, cars, children and neckerchiefs). Knitted items can be sexy, that much we know. But they also be, well, funny.
