In 1928 and 1929 a family from Amersham in Buckinghamshire went to the seaside in Sussex, on the south coast of England. The holidaymakers stayed at Angmering, West Sussex, in 1928. A year later, they messed about on the sand and sea at Littlehampton. The stars of this gorgeous family album are Gladys and Marguerite, who each appear in many of the pictures. We know their names because of an incredible stroke of luck. Flickr user Vintage Ladies found the photos in a box at a sale. A year after buying the negatives he found a small family photo album which names many of the people in the photographs.
The pictures are glorious.
