Philipp Igumnov, aka woodcum, creates witty far-out images using illustration, collage and photography. His otherworldly situations feature unlikely juxtapositions. The images, magnetising in their pulling in of this and that, and shot through with humor, are surreal, on occasion arrestingly so, especially in Igumov’s arresting ‘Floating Woman’. The overall effect is of being shown some essential, mysterious still-life truth. You most likely won’t reach any conclusions about meaning through Igumnov’s hallucinatory work, but’s a lot of fun looking at it.
