Hector Mosko collects vintage baggies – those neat drugs dealers’ bags used to carry cocaine, heroin, pills, cannabis and any other illicit drugs. In New York, where these were found, dealers ‘brand’ their drug packaging to win business.
But as with record store bags and vintage LSD tab sheets, baggies are not as needed as they once were. The marijuana industry has gone corporate and acclimatised to the tax take. Product reviews on mainstream media tell you about things like price, terpenes and origin strains. No need for the Kosher King to tell you his baggie is full of ‘High Quality Cannabis Flowers’ nor for The Flintstones’ Barney Rubble to look goofed.
