A Day Out in London on the 14th November 1987

On 14 November 1987, Peter Hancox, was on a trip to London

He’s not wrong. It’s fun to see waxworks – the good and the bad. There are cricket stars England’s Ian Botham and the West Indies captain Viv Richards, snooker champion Steve Davis, miner’s union firebrand and tabloid terror Arthur Scargill, assorted toffs – King George V and Queen Mary – someone standing next to Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev and a woman lying down. Who is he. Who is she? Did we know who they were in 1987?

“I never plan anything. I always take whatever inspires me at the time! I never know what I’m going to go home with in my camera! It was the same when I was at Moseley Art School in Birmingham, when I went out sketching.”

– Peter Hancox
