WWII London Utility Furniture Show - from our story 'The CC41 ‘Pac-Man’ Utility Label in Wartime Britain.'

The first examples of the new utility furniture were shown to the trade in London on Oct. 15, 1942. The show included tables, chairs, sideboards, beds and a host of other “utility” articles. Plywood is largely used in these designs, from which all peace-time trimmings have been eliminated. A utility bedroom on view on October 15, the furniture in this instance has a mahogany finish.
