These photos were taken on the beaches of Rochester, the city on Lake Ontario, in Upstate New York. There’s something especially right about looking at pictures from Rochester, what with it being home to The George Eastman Museum, sited on the estate of the Kodak founder. The city is also home to Bausch & Lomb, the contact lens company founded in 1861, and Xerox, the printing company founded in Rochester in 1906.
These terrific photos were scanned by collector Thomas Hawk. Like him, if you see yourself of someone you know in them, we’d love to hear from you. It would also be great to identify the date they were taken and on which of Rochester’s beaches.
