Italy Tivoli Anita Ekberg - from our story 'Kerstin Anita Marianne Ekberg: Wonderful Photos 1931 – 2015'

Swedish-born actress Anita Ekberg stands in a Chinese cart, while refugees effort to load some of their belongings upon it, in a scene of a new Italian film, being shot in the woods near Tivoli, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) east of Rome, Italy on Sept. 26, 1959. The film is called “Apocalisse sul Fiume Giallo” (verbally: Apocalypse on the Yellow River). It tells the story of the nationalist Chinese forces’ desperate fight against the communist forces, of the latter’s plan to blow up a dike of the Yellow River, of an American journalist (played by French actor Georges Marchal) who happens to learn about this plan, and eventually saves the dike from a major disaster, and thus his love with an American nurse (played by Anita Ekberg).
