In 1993, Sid Vicious was immortalised in plastic and nylon as ‘The Ultimate Punk Rocker’. We’ve seen many unusual action figures, and this is surely one of the oddest. Just 3,000 of these officially licensed dolls was produced in the UK by S.I.D. Limited.
All 12-inches of the Ultimate Punk Rocker were housed tastefully in a coffin-shaped box, featuring the musicians birth and death dates, his “R” padlock necklace (a gift from Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders), six T-Shirts housed in frames (pictured above), most carrying Seditionaries designs by impresario Malcolm McLaren and designer Vivienne Westwood, and an expression suggestive that Vicious is having a stroke.
