Tundra Kids - from our story 'Tundra Kids: Nenet Children Inside Russia’s Indigenous Boarding School'

RUSSIAN FEDERATION / The Komi Republic/ Vorkuta / 11.11.2014 Handmade clay reindeer (and snowmobile) were photographed in the boarding school for the ethnic Nenets, nomadic indigenous people of arctic Russia, in Vorkuta, Russia in November 2014. The boarding school, partly decorated with various ethnic-theme items and artworks, hosts children ranging from three to thirteen years old from autumn to spring, when the children go back to the tundra to stay with their family members and reindeer. © Ikuru Kuwajima / Anzenberger
