In 1998, photographer Peter Marshall was taking a walk though Kilburn, north-west London. Taking in parts of neighbouring Kensal Rise, Willesden and Harlesden, Marshall shows us people on Kilburn High Road (part of Watling Street, the route once used by the ancient Britons and one of the main Roman roads in Britannia), shops, the hand-cart you can see in the picture above – a rarity back then – and the kind of things you saw but most likely never thought to photograph.
